TAKING THE TOUR
Before taking the tour, check out our COVID-19 Reopening Guidelines for more information!
The NLBM is a self-guided tour experience. The exhibition features text panels, hundreds of photographs, artifacts and several film exhibits that is integrated with a timeline of baseball and African American history. Length of tour varies but we recommend a minimum of an hour to fully enjoy the exhibit.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
Photography and video recording is allowed in the NLBM. Be sure to tag @nlbmprez on Twitter and Instagram so we can see and share. Remember, commercial reproduction of displays and artifacts are strictly prohibited without written consent from the NLBM.
FOOD & DRINK
Food, drink and chewing gum are not allowed in the NLBM’s gallery.
PARKING
On street parking is available near the museum. Visitors can park on the either side of 18th Street, on the south side of “Buck” O’Neil Way (17th Street Terrace) or in public parking lots near the Gregg Community Center (just north of the museums) at 18th and Woodland (one block east) or 18th & Vine (one half block west). Large buses for group tours should park and have passengers enter through the north entrance on “Buck” O’Neil Way or in the Parking lots between the NLBM and the KC Urban Youth Academy.
COAT CHECK
We have public space available on the first floor for coat, backpack and umbrella storage. Luggage or oversized backpacks are not allowed to be stored in the coat storage area.
ACCESSIBILITY
Wheelchairs are available free of charge. Strollers are permitted in the museum. Closed captioning for the hearing impaired is available on the main exhibit film. Assistive animals (guide dogs) are allowed.
